ATF Falsely Targets and Charges Maryland Gun Range Owner: Jury Unanimously Finds Rob Krop Not Guilty on All Charges
Baltimore, Maryland – 10/23/2024
In a case of heavy handed and abusive government overreach by the Department of Justice
(DOJ) and the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), a federal jury on Tuesday, October 22, found Maryland realtor and owner of the Machine Gun Nest, Rob Krop, not guilty on five counts including conspiracy to interfere with government functions, making false statements and unlawful possession of firearms.
Communications with the United States Attorney revealed that Mr. Krop was targeted as part of a broader Biden/Harris Administration directive to empower the DOJ to curtail the authority of local law enforcement officials to procure departmental weapons and to restrict Federal Firearm License (FFL) holders.
Krop denied wrong doing from the outset of the investigation and rejected two plea deals from the ATF, later testifying during trial that “they (the ATF) wanted me to lie.” During the trial, the government acknowledged that this was a “paperwork” case, and that their conspiracy charges were on shaky grounds.
Luke Cass, a member of the Krop legal team said, “Robert Krop and his family have endured a two year federal investigation and today were acquitted of all counts. We are grateful for the jury and their verdict. Mr. Krop stands vindicated.”
Dan Cox, lead attorney for Mr. Krop said, “The Constitution has once again been upheld in this great land of the free. I thank the jury for the verdict and God for my client’s victory.”
Mr. Krop explained that, “I am so thankful to God. He will always shine through the darkness and truth will be upheld.”
